Afghan Square of the Month: The first Thursday 6P-8P OR the first Saturday 9A-11A of each month. A total of twelve different design squares will be offered and can be joined to create a full sized afghan or, for a smaller project, can be used to create one or several pillow tops. Participants must know how to do the knit and purl stitch. Sign up will be done on a monthly basis and joining this group may be done throughout the year.

Every Tuesday (6P-8P) or Thursday (throughout the day and evening): Ongoing workshops to learn how to knit, advance your skills or to work on a self chosen project with experienced help available. These classes are guaranteed to get your creative juices flowing and to provide an enjoyable social time for knitters of all skill levels.

BACK TO THE CURRENT CLASS SCHEDULE

There will be no pre-scheduled Saturday classes for July or August, however, individual or group classes may be easily arranged. This will be a perfect time to take that classs that you were unable to attend when it was initially scheduled.

MARK YOUR CALANDERS FOR SATURDAY, JULY 22, 2006!
Yarn and Company will be taking part in the Beverly, WV Heritage Day festivities on July 22, 2006. In addition to featuring Ewe-nique yarn and accessories, there will be SPECIAL SALE ITEMS. Stop by our booth to find out how you might win a tote bag or a hand knit item. Yarn and Company's main location on Airport/Country Club Rd. will also be open during this time.
OTHER BEVERLY HERITAGE DAY ACTIVITIES:
- Textile Fair: traditional fiber arts in a "sheep to shawl" style demonstration. Live fiber-bearing animals (llamas, angora goats, rabbits,), wool carding and spinning, organic dying, loom weaving demonstrations. Fiber arts and craft vendors.
- Heritage Review: candle dripping, corn cob jelly, cornmeal grinding, blcksmithing, domestic arts, cooking, traditional music and entertainment, reenactors of Frontier and Civil War era.
- Food: pork loin BBQ luncheon, old fashioned lemonade and watermelon stand.

 

KNITTING CAMP
Knitting camp at Y.M.C.A. Camp Horseshoe in St. George, WV, will be September 21-23. You will be receiving a brochure within the next couple of weeks.

I am still trying to locate my Vogue Knitting Book that I loaned out to someone. It is oversized with a blue cover showing a young man and woman wearing multi-colored fair isle vests. Please, please, please look through your knitting gear to see if it may temporarily be living at your house.
