NOVEMBER 2007 class schedule

Saturday Classes:

11/03/07

Toe up Socks
10a-1p

Follow up classes will be on 11/24 and 12/8

Knitting toe up allows for perfect sizing, just try it on as you knit! Running out of yarn is prevented simply by adjusting the sock leg length to the amount of remaining yarn. Avoid the ''bump" by learning how to cast on without a slip knot. And maybe BEST OF ALL.... toe up provides automatic gauge swatch. Lisa Smakula will teach us this ''soon to be your favorite'' technique.

11/10/07

Adult Jacket
9a-11a

Cable Hat
1p-4p

Follow up to the 10/27 class or make plans to start your jacket today if you were unable to make it to the initial class. Yarn requirements need to be planned if Burley Spun is your yarn choice.

Learn how to make a cable WITHOUT using a cable needle. Lisa Smakula will once again show us that she has a few tricks up her sleeve. Try a new method and end up with a project as well.

11/17/07

Needle Felting
10a-1p

Wine Tote
3p-5p

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND- Jody Logar will once again show us how to do dry needle felting using a special barbed needle, wool roving, and a foam cushion to make a three dimensional Santa Head complete with a curly beard and rosy cheeks. Special kit price for class participants.

Get your Christmas giving in gear with this quick-to-make felted wine tote. A bottle of West Virginia wine is the perfect companion for those people on your list who live out of state.

11/24/07

Snowman
9a-11a
Follow up class 12/1

Toe up Socks
1p-4p

This knitted snowman is a real snow shopper. Oops, I meant show stopper. Knit it,  felt it, and then of course, dress it.

Follow up to the 11/03 class. Lisa Smakula will teach how to make a heel for the toe up sock. This class will also be open to students who did not take the initial class but want to learn this skill.
