MAY 2007 class schedule

Saturday Classes:

5/05/07
10a-12noon

Afghan Blocks

This will be the PERFECT project for Spring and Summer because each block is worked individually making this very portable and very easy to “pick up and go”. June Davis will show us how to make pattern choices, coordinate color work, as well as personalizing a unique design especially for you. By the time summer is over, you will be well on your way to having an afghan ready to finish.

5/12/07
9a-12noon

Sachet Bag

I’m so-o-o-o excited about this class. First of all, we will be using a brand new yarn that is 65% organic cotton and 35% milk fiber---unbelievably soft! Secondly, we will be knitting in the round using one long circular needle, a technique which will omit the need for double pointed needles [this is an ideal introduction to future projects such as knitting socks, finishing the decreasing crown of a hat, etc]. Thirdly, we will learn how to make an eyelet opening and then how to finish off with a picot edging. Whew, all of this in just one class!

5/19/07
9a-12noon

Knitted Top

Well, it’s not a poncho and it’s not a shawl but it is a wonderful covering that can be used to dress up an outfit or to keep your shoulders warm on a summer evening. The display model was made using soy silk yarn [ made from tofu , if you can believe it!] and does not wrinkle which makes it perfect for travel.

Yarn and Company has the most exciting and Ewe-nique classes available!
We offer classes for all skill levels, and carry all of the materials you will need to produce the projects we teach.
We feature new classes every other month, so be sure to check back for the new Class Schedule.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Yarn and Company will be open and welcomes your visit. To celebrate the
beginning of Summer all yarn today will be 20% off.

Saturday Class Update
Yarn and Company will not have any scheduled Saturday classes during the summer starting in June. But you know
darn well that if I have been known to knit wearing ski goggles and a breathing mask in order to finish a sweater that
was made from fibers that I was sensitive to, that I will be knitting up a storm this summer regardless of the
temperature. Please join me. This will be an opportune time to schedule a session for a class that you were unable to
attend, to learn a new knitting skill, or to make a specific item that you’ve been dying to knit. Think about socks, an
entrelac  purse, felted bowls or a kitty bed, needle felting projects, a shawl, a cotton rug, a sweater using the new Taos
yarn, and the list goes on-n-n-n-n.

CLASS FEE IS $5.00 PER HOUR.
CLASS FEE FOR SATURDAY CLASSES IS $10.00 PER HOUR IF PROJECT YARN
WAS NOT PURCHASED FROM YARN AND COMPANY.

Private or group classes are available and encouraged. Call and we'll do our best to accommodate your wishes.

To make the most of your class time, please have all supplies ready prior to the scheduled class time.
A 50% deposit of the class fee will guarantee your place in your chosen class.
With less than 3 days cancellation notice, your payment will be forfeited.
