JANUARY 2008 class schedule

Saturday Classes:

1/05/08

Block of the Month
9a-12p

Based on traditional quilt patterns, a project will be offered every other month with a follow up class scheduled on alternate months. The first block will be the Ohio Star with the project being either a 13x14 felted wall hanging or a felted tote bag. The construction begins at the center and is then worked in modular sections-an exciting method of knitting. This class will be held on the first Saturday of each month.

Earmuffs
1p-4p

Choose either the felted or the unfelted version. For extra flair add a bit of novelty, textured or self striping yarn. Bring your own ear muff to use as a frame [a few will be available to purchase]

1/12/08

Afghan
10a-1p

This afghan is made using a series of large squares, small squares and rectangles and can be done in 3 different sizes. Use 5 colors or be creative and adventurous in multiple color choices. Each block is created from the previous block making it seamless-no sewing together!!!  This class will be held the 2nd Saturday of each month.

1/19/08

Design your own Sweater
10a-2p

Now you can make  your sweater based on "that perfect yarn that you just can't wait to knit with, your personal proportions preferences, and favorite style. This class will be held the 3rd Saturday of each month. This first class will be dedicated to yarn selection, design schematics, gauging, and body measurements. Actual knitting will begin if time permits or else it will start 1/26 [see below].

1/26/08 Mittens
10a-2p
These mittens are fingerless with an attached flap making them the best of both worlds. They look great made out of Mission Falls washable merino wool as well as thick/thin verigated yarn. Think about working the cuff prior to class to make the best use of your time.

Entrelac Purse
9a-1p

This is an interesting technique and when knit in the round, there are times when you are knitting going in the direction of the left and at other times headed toward the right .This type of knitting has a woven appearance and when felted it looks like a harlequin pattern. This is a good time to try something new and different.
