We offer classes for all skill levels, and carry all of the materials you will need to produce the projects we teach.
We feature new classes every other month, so be sure to check back for the new Class Schedule.

ongoing classes


Every Tuesday (6P-8P) or Thursday (throughout the day and evening): Ongoing workshops to learn how to knit, advance your skills or to work on a self chosen project with experienced help available. These classes are guaranteed to get your creative juices flowing and to provide an enjoyable social time for knitters of all skill levels.

Mittens and/or Magic Loop
10a-12noon

This a selection of classes, so you decide if you want to learn the magic loop or make your mittens on double points. You also decide if you want finger less mittens or mittens with a flap. So many choices! This is a good time to practice the magic loop, a method that can eliminate or at least minimize the need for double points. Burley Spun yarn is used so the project is very fast to knit.

Baby Surprise Jacket
10a-12noon

This is class #3 and the final class for this uniquely structured baby jacket/sweater. See 2/14/09 for class description.

Toe Up Sock
10a-1p

Carol Seaton will show us a square toe that is much less complicated  as well giving another option available for sock making. Toe up socks allow better yarn amount planning. This is the first of 3 classes scheduled so today's class fee will cover today as well as classes for 4/4/09 and 4/18/09.

Afghan Blocks
10a-12noon

This is a great way to advance your knitting skills. June Davis will help you plan your personalized afghan design by helping you to coordinate color and patterning as well as gauging to your favorite yarn.Made square by square, this portable project will be an excellent way to get some knitting accomplished as the weather gets warmer. $19.95 stitch directory will be $12.95 for class participants.

After Thought Heel

Second of three classes [see 3/21/09] and ALSO AS A ONE  DAY CLASS for those who want to learn a new sock-making technique. The heel section is marked and is then knit after the rest of the sock is completed. As a bonus, the after thought heel is REPLACEABLE.

4/25/09 Join This Session and Show the World that YOU ARE A SOCK KNITTER!

This is not an official class but a chance for your talents to show through. The $15.00 kit includes instructions, enough sock yarn [hand dyed , of course] for a mini sock, and a mini wooden sock blocker attached to a key chain. Simply knit the sock, slip it over the sock blocker form, then attach it to your Yarn and Company Bag Lady Bag, your keys, your tote or purse, or give it as a gift. Join the Fun!

CLASS FEE IS $5.00 PER HOUR.
CLASS FEE FOR SATURDAY CLASSES IS $10.00 PER HOUR IF PROJECT YARN
WAS NOT PURCHASED FROM YARN AND COMPANY.

Private or group classes are available and encouraged. Call and we'll do our best to accommodate your wishes.

To make the most of your class time, please have all supplies ready prior to the scheduled class time.
A 50% deposit of the class fee will guarantee your place in your chosen class.
With less than 3 days cancellation notice, your payment will be forfeited.
